Lads, if you’re after a stag do with a bit of everything, Brighton is a cracking choice. You’ve got the seaside, the pubs, the clubs, the beach, the famous pier and enough things to keep the groom and his mates entertained from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning. It’s basically built for a weekend of questionable decisions.
Brighton has a proper mix of old school seaside charm and modern nightlife, so you can start the day with a few beers around the Lanes, get stuck into an activity, grab some food and then head towards the seafront for the main event. The city centre is compact too, which means you won’t spend half the weekend trekking across town trying to find the next pub.
Whether the lads fancy paintball, go karting, a competitive activity, a bottomless brunch or simply working your way through Brighton’s best pubs and bars, there’s loads to get stuck into. And when the sun goes down, the party really gets going around West Street, the seafront and the North Laine.
Is Brighton good for a stag do? Absolutely. It’s got everything you need for a big weekend, from daytime activities and beachside beers to late nights and a huge choice of bars.
Where should stag groups stay? The city centre, North Laine, Kemptown and around the seafront are all handy for getting to the main attractions, pubs and nightlife.
Where’s best for a night out? West Street is famous for its big night out atmosphere, while the North Laine and Kemptown are packed with pubs, bars and more laid back places to drink.
Can you do activities by the beach? Definitely. Brighton’s seafront is ideal for activities, and the beach gives you an easy spot to regroup with a few drinks afterwards.
Is Brighton expensive? It can be, especially at weekends, but there are loads of different options for food, drinks and activities to suit different budgets.
Getting to Brighton is pretty straightforward, which is another reason it works so well for a stag weekend. Trains run directly from London Victoria, London Bridge and St Pancras, with the journey from London taking roughly an hour depending on the service.
If you’re travelling from further away, Gatwick Airport is less than an hour from Brighton by train, making it handy for lads flying in from elsewhere.
Once you’re there, most of the main stag do hotspots are within walking distance. The Lanes, North Laine, seafront, Brighton Palace Pier, Kemptown and West Street are all close to the city centre. There are also buses and taxis if the legs have given up after a day of activities and a few beers.
So, why Brighton? Because it gives you everything a proper stag weekend needs without making the group spend half their time travelling between activities. You can hit the beach, smash a competitive activity, explore the pubs around the Lanes, grab some food and then head into the city for a big night out.
Add in the famous pier, the seafront, the huge choice of bars and Brighton’s famously relaxed attitude and you’ve got a city that knows exactly how to handle a group of lads celebrating the groom.
Get the boys together, sort the activities, book somewhere central to stay and prepare for a weekend in Brighton that the groom will hopefully remember for all the right reasons.
